Bouncing back

First meeting with Mr Sng after the semis result was released.

Everyone was disappointed but no one was saying it out. We talked about our why we had failed, but more importantly, we understood that we will finish up with what we started off with. The meeting only lasted 30 minutes, but essentially we all knew exactly what we had to do next.

We didn't make it but this is will be a small part because what is at the finishing line is what that is more important, and the race is not yet over. The race is far from over, and hopefully we'll run finish this race together.

Cheer up =)

2nd visit to FeiYue

Today was the second visit we made to Fei Yue and to my very delight, everyone was able to make it. When we first got there, I sort of had a little stage fright. There were nervy moments even before we met the children.

The very moment we stepped into the classroom i felt all my emotions simply let out. There was a strong passion and urge to have fun with these children and make friends with them. In a way, our initial plan for an introductory lesson was replaced by a ice breaking session, but it was indeed worth the change. The time we spent there was certainly very short but very valuable indeed. As I saw the children leave the classroom to go home with their parents, their was a clear and distinct expression from the children that they wanted us to be there to play with them again. That sort of gave me reason for what I was doing.

Today's session went really well, and hopefully there will be better lessons and meeting ahead. ^^

2nd Visit to our Beneficiary

Today was our first visit to Fei Yue Early Intervention Centre.I have to say that it was indeed an eye-opener, considering that this was my first time actually getting to see these children with Autism, and actually working with them for the first time in my life. From the looks of today, I guess we still have a lot more to learn about what to do with communicating with them, and when carrying out our lesson plans. Of course, I'm sure that we will eventually work things out as we proceed with our sessions.

Today is but the first step, I'm sure that the project will be a successful, and benefit both us and the kids at feiyue.

Regards
Joseph

Reflections 07/06

Reflections

Generally I felt that our progress was rather slow before the meeting. However, during this meeting we managed to sort out many different things - such as the theory of mind which actually help to get us back on track and correct our thinking on this topic. Glad that we managed to settle many other stuffs, such as our Syllabus which were reedited and also the various lesson plans.

Let hope that our project can carry on smoothly as well.

Reflections - 7/6

Before the meeting, I thought we were quite screwed because we were behind time.

At the start of the meeting, I was still thinking the same way because of some joker.

Luckily, after the meeting, I was relieved because we have finally come up with a concrete plan, be it work-wise or lesson-plan-wise. All in all, we actually got some work done during the meeting.

Hope that we manage to keep to the deadline, complete the work by then, and everything will go more smoothly.

Let's go~

Reflections for 7/6 Meeting

The meeting in my opinion was by far the most productive. However, the effectiveness of the meeting remains to be seen. We really are quite behind time.. :( I guess the meeting was productive, mainly because we managed to re-discuss and re-decide our syllabus, and the rough contents of what each lesson should be. Also, we are now better aware of the needs of the autistic children after reading that 9 pages long article... Okay, maybe not 9, but at least the important parts of it anyway. It's been quite a while since we got together and did some assessment of our progress. I can safely say we are back on the right track, but I still wonder if we will continue moving on the right track.

In any case, we have to finish all the preparation work by end of week 3. That includes all our lesson plans, our syllabus, etc. I hope we can meet the deadline... I hope this is the last time we will be facing such "blurness"

Meeting on 7/6

Hey guys, I start off the reflections for today's meeting XD

7/6/10

Reflections.

Today, we had a meeting discussing the final details of the project and confirming the syllabus. On the whole, it was a relief that most things were confirmed upon and the next phase would be the planning and the execution. I am glad that Joseph organized the meeting this week as it was crucial for us to get together again after losing track and direction for a certain period of time. The meeting was definitely not a waste of time as seen by the things completed. On the whole, the meeting itself was definitely an accomplishment but it could have been better if just one person could put in more effort in discussions (you know who…). It was also good to see that we had fun during meetings and there were jokes made and this was important because we had fun during the meeting. Overall, today was a great success.
